Expertise: Radio-astronomical data analysis and calibration methods
Themes: CosmoNanoscienceBiography
Stefanie Brackenhoff received a B.Sc. in astronomy from Leiden University (Leiden, the Netherlands) in 2018 and a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from Delft University of Technology (Delft, the Netherlands) in 2019. She completed her M.Sc. in electrical engineering with a specialization in signals and systems at Delft University of Technology in 2021 (cum laude). She pursued her PhD at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute of Groningen University, which she is set to complete in 2025.
She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology. Her work focuses on improving the on-sky performance of the DESHIMA on-chip spectrometer, a pioneering instrument for high-redshift galaxy observations in the 220–440 GHz range. Her research interests lie in radio-astronomical data analysis and calibration methods (in both interferometric arrays and single-dish telescopes), and include signal-processing methods and algorithm design for improved sensitivity and atmospheric noise removal, and end-to-end simulations of radio-astronomical instrument performance.
