Mathias Hoekstra

Mathias Hoekstra is currently a Bachelor student Electrical Engineering. As a part of the Bachelor Honours Programme, he is researching the possibilities of integrating Low-Field MRI technology in a C-arm configuration, as to provide body imaging during surgery.

The title of the project is: MR-based C-arm for interventional radiology procedures. This project aims to research the possibilities of integrating Low-Field MRI technology in a C-arm configuration, using a Halbach array to create main magnetic field. The combination of Low-Field MRI and C-arm is to provide a cost effective and accessible imaging device that can be used during surgery.
